Worried about class III requirements:(

I am getting nervous because we only have two weeks left of this semester. I am not done with my class three requirements:( Last week in clinic my patient qualified as a class III luckily, but hopefully she comes back this week because I scheduled her for the 21st at 9:00am to come back to start scaling her right side. If she doesn't come back than I will not be able to finish my requirements. I am praying that she comes back for me or else I don't know what to do!! I still need to pass off the periodontal file PE and Blood Glucose PE. Hopefully within the next two weeks left of this semester, I finish.

What a Day!!

I am glad that I purchased the gleason guide to sharpen my instruments, it has helped me out tremendously:) It was definitely worth the money!! I am getting a little nervous about acquiring my class III requirements, I still need two exams on class III. Hopefully, next week my new patient that I have coming in morning is a class III. So far all the patients that I have had in clinic have been all class II's. I can't believe that this semester is almost over it has gone by so fast!! I was able to pass off accessory fulcrum PE today so I was glad to at least to have one PE passed off today in clinic:)

Last lab day of injections:)

It is exciting to see how much we have covered already and being that we only have several weeks left of this semester. I hope that I won't be too nervous about giving injections on my patients, but within time it will get easier. Before we had our first lab on injections, I was a little apprehensive about receiving injections. On our first day after lab, I was surprized that they were not painful at all. The dental work that I have had done in the past, I have only experienced what nitrous oxide feels like. So far I have only have had one cavity in my lifetime and hopefully that will be the last. Next week I will be prepared for our nitrous lab.

Requirements!! Requirements!!

I was able to finish my requirements for my class II's by completing my exam yesterday, I am happy about that:) I still need two exams on class III's requirements and then I will be done. I have already finished with class V requirements which I am excited that I did. I still can't believe how fast the first semester has gone by and that we only have one semester left. I still need to pass off several more PE's before the semester ends. I got off to a slow start with passing PE's off. Hopefully, next semester will not be hectic in completing all of the PE's. I did enjoy going to the VA and meeting the type of patients that we see at the VA. I like hearing all the stories about their life experiences, it makes me realize how fortunate my life has been.

First Mockboard

Last week for our first mockboard it was interesting to see the process of how the actual national boards are. I am glad that we are able to go through the process, I could see how this would be overwhelming if we didn't have the experience of the three mockboard exams. I have to admit it was stressful to me that day because we were learning new paperwork and just learning the process of checking in your patient. From experiencing this for the first time it made me realize that I need to make sure that my patient that I have for boards qualifies. I will definitely make sure that I have my patient come into clinic to be screened to make sure that they do qualify for boards because the patient that I had for mockboards didn't meet the requirements necessary to be a candidate even with submitting an alternative quadrant. I feel that we are fortunate to have the experience of the mockboards. I feel that it will ease the stress a little to know the process, but I know that I will definitely be stressed still for boards!!
