Requirements that I still have to do:(

I still need the following requirements: 2 exams of a class III, 7 quads of a class IV, 1 periodontal pedicament PE, 2 root debridement PE's, 2 Periodontal file PE's, 3 injection PE's and I think 11 more experiences of injections. The major concern I have in completing these requirements is time because there is only one more month left in the semester. I haven't had the best of luck with this semester in getting class III requirements and class IV patients. Also I have been asking all my patients about the use of local anesthetic, but no luck in getting them to have local anesthetic. So hopefully I get all of my requirements done at the end of this semester because I don't know how I will be able to come back to get them done being that I am due with my baby the end of August.

Production Day!!

I am glad that we are able to have this opportunity to see how are day will be in regular practice. I still feel that I need to work on organization and speed, but I do believe that within time I will achieve this. I am still trying to keep a positive attitude about finishing my requirements, but at this point I feel that I have a lot to still accomplish in a short amount of time. I had two children in the afternoon of my production day they kept me busy. I had a hard time with both of them with x-rays because they both had troubles biting down on the tab portion of film. Also it is hard for a six year old to stay still and I instructed him not to move, but he still did which I had to take both films all over again:( Also with his sister she I placed the pillows on the film so that it wouldn't bother floor of the mouth, but it still bothered her. I felt that I tried everything that I could possibly do. At the end of day I was glad it was over:)

Stress of requirements!!

I still have a lot of requirements to do, I am worried about whether or not I will get finished. I hope that I pass the written and clinical part of anesthesia boards. I was able to practice a little bit on Thursday of finding the landmarks of PSA and IA. My patient that I had on Tuesday clinic was a class 4 in LL quadrant which was nice of my peer pal Casandra to give me because lately at WSU clinic I have been only able to obtain 1B's, V's, and 1A requirements. I really don't want to have to come back and complete my requirements if I don't get them done this semester. I need to have my brother-in-law come into our clinic to screen him to see if he will be a board patient possibly for me in May for boards. So hopefully I will be able to start getting my requirements done when we come back from the break.

ERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

Both of my mock boards have been really disappointing. I feel like have learned a lot from them, which is really the point, but I also felt like I should have done better. Now I feel like I have a huge mountain to climb in terms of what I have to accomplish in the next couple of months. Due to having bad luck with patients, I am really behind. I feel like I keep coming to clinic only to be presented with yet ANOTHER requirement I DON'T NEED!!!!! It's so frustrating, because I am in a hole and have no way of getting out. While other girls are getting the patients they need and moving forward I am just turning my wheels! I am trying to have a positive attitude, because I am going after patients that have not had their teeth cleaned in years, yet to only find out they are classified and 1B, 2, or 5.

Well, at least I have vented a bit. We will just have to see where this goes from here.
