Sealants! Sealants!

The week before last week was crazy in clinic. I had two patients come into clinic so that I could pass off my PE and my requirements for sealants. I was able to pass off my diagnodent, air-powder polishing, and sealant PE's that day which was great because I felt that I had accomplished a lot in one day:) It had been awhile since I placed sealants so I felt a little rusty, but I had help from Kathy Jo and Sydni which was nice because I was running behind. The reason why I was running behind schedule was that I woke up late, I didn't hear my alarm clock go off in the morning. I arrived on campus at 8:40am luckily my first patient wasn't able to come in that day until 9:00am. I hate it when this happens because you feel like you are trying to catch up all day long. All in all it was a good day:)

I Can't Believe it!

I can't believe that it is already the end of fall semester!I wasn't able to pass off my periodontal file PE last week in clinic. I looked in the Nield book on the chapter about the periodontal files because I had forgotten since lab instruction. Now, I know that the Hirschfeld 9/10 is for the facial and lingual surfaces of the anterior teeth and the 3/7 is for the facial and lingual surfaces of the posterior teeth. Last of the Hirschfeld files 5/11 is for the mesial and distal surfaces of the posterior teeth. I wasn't able to pass this off because my patient didn't meet the requirements of the PE. Hopefully, when I come back from break I will be able to pass this off:) This was the only PE that I didn't finish of the PE's for fall semester:(
